~Cloud 9~

~Today began like any other morning, me dragging my tired self to the shower before the trio wakes up. Never feeling rested yet this week I have felt renewed, excited if you will at the new job I am doing. I engage with patients more and really feel I am doing a BIG and IMPORTANT job. What a wonderful feeling...After 5 years I have gone as high as I could in my current job so I prayed for more, something to make me feel as if I am doing something other than pushing paper eventhough I knew/know that my previous job was much more than that. My new job title has a few names, Family Member Relocation Coordinator, and Exceptional Family Member Program. These programs in a nutshell help the member and his/her family to make a smooth transition as they move to another base. Especially if there is health issues/concerns within the family, the team I work with ensures our Air Force families are well taken care of and a warm hand off to the new base happens. It may not seem like much to some but to me this is bliss, busy and still learning the ropes of course but I feel as if I have come home. This day was busy and filled with lots of preparing of packages for patients etc...At 245pm I sat down with my friend Erica for a quick snack and we were told to be in the commanders conference room at 300pm. So I gobbled up my triscuts and off we all went...Most of our squadron was there, we are the Medical Support Squadron and the room was packed. The Commander walked in we all stood and he said "As you were" ( Ohhh how I truly love everything about military tradition!) :-) He then began talking about one of my new programs then skipped to talking about the 14th Air Force and how a 3 Star General picked a civilian, a civilian he felt was deserving of this HONOR. Then he asked me to stand up and come join him up front...ME? He kept laughing saying "Do you know what I am talking about?" I kept saying no and blushing badly...He told me I won for 14th Air Force, I was chosen, for my dedication, my hard work, my outside dealings with the community, etc. WOW!!! This has been a whirlwind few months for me in the work/award department. I have won in total 7 awards, for Sqaudron, Then the base, Then Team Pete(Our Base.) I am simply overwhelmed tonight...At the support and love I feel from my team, my co-workers who are my family as well....I wanted to share my happiness and joy with you all. I will attach a few pictures from the past awards breakfast. Thank you everyone for taking the time to support me and my beautiful family...It means so much to me.

Love and blessings to all....
~S
