What is your peace? Where do you find your bliss?

Peace is something that is not always in my vocabulary, let's be honest- I have twins that are nearly 5 years old and a nearly 4 year old. They are all VERY close in age, it is basically as if I have triplets. People ask if they are triplets and I just shake my head and say "Yup they sure are!" I have a friend who has triplets, all girls and she said my kiddos look more like triplets than hers do-I found that funny! Parenting to multiples is a lot, everything in three's in our life! Parenting in general is a lot-it is not for the faint of heart, it is NOT for the part time parent. You give your all and pray like heck each and every step of the way. When my kids were babies we were in survival mode, sleeping about 3 hours a night, then we transitioned to sleeping through the night, being potty trained, and now here I am on the brink of school age for my twinsers (Pre-K) and lady Violet will go to (Pre-Pre K) Haha! I am also in dealing with 3 VERY different personalities, Scarlett is very sensitive-cries at the drop of a hat. Kellan is all boy-very tough, yet listens very well, and finally Violet. Ohhhh Violet, she is our hippy, a free spirit, wild curly hair, loves to do her own thing, prefers to run around without a care in the world and is VERY VERY sassy to say the least. She is on her own time clock and agenda as I said before-yet she is so caring and loves to cuddle. What a wonderful feeling, to have 3 different loves that LOVE to be with me and cuddle still. I shall enjoy that as long as possible! Back to the peace aspect, I find peace in sitting and staring at the ocean, the waves moving in and out, the water washing away old and bringing the new. I find peace in looking for the perfect seashells and sometimes the most imperfect ones are the best ones. I love to see the sunset over the water, to smell the ocean air early in the morning and as the sun goes down. Peace to me is reading to the kids, when they allow it-Ha! Listening to them playing "house" and "school", hearing them care for one another brings me peace. It makes me proud and happy that we have raised caring people, little people who say "thank you" and "Hello" to anyone who comes in their path! Their smiles and laughter bring me peace, even if at times they wake me up at 5am! It is funny, as a young woman I found my peace to be things I enjoyed, sort of only thinking about myself because I could and now many moons later I find peace in helping others, and being with family and watching my kids mature into great little people. Today we went to the beach, well two beaches and it was very fun! The second one is more kid friendly, less waves and the ability to allow the kids to just have fun and be! We ate Mexican food, swam in the ocean, had ice cream and watched Frozen (Again!!) when we got home. We are all a little more sunburnt than I would like BUT we all had a blast. My bliss is one in the same with my peace, family, learning, living, loving and appreciating every single second because our seconds are numbered, this much we know BUT if we choose to live life to the fullest and enjoy then we really can do no wrong!

I challenge you all to find your peace, and your bliss-when you do find it---HOLD ON and ENJOY THE RIDE!

  1. Great post! My peace is found in many places...family, friends, running, cooking, photography, writing, and just being me! <3
