First off I will say, WOW packing and moving your own stuff into storage is something that is new for me. I was "spoiled" for years and years with the military packing my stuff, and shipping it. All I had to do was look on and that was it! Well, this move has proved to be very different. Jason is headed to training for several months and with that they would not pack our house up without orders stating he has passed said training so we have had to look for boxes, buy packing supplies and pack every little thing in this house. We are almost done I am happy to say, we are hiring movers to move everything into a climate controlled storage unit as the weather here in Florida is HUMID and NASTY and could do awful things to our stuff. We will be able to move into a home and get settled hopefully be settled by the holidays, my friend said she always felt like a gypsy with all her military moves. YUP that is exactly how I feel. I am only taking a suitcase, and a few plastic bins to include things I don't want anything to happen to such as pictures and things like that. I also have some vintage perfume mirrors that were my Grandmother's and that will also be coming with me. I am not bringing toys because the kids will have TONS of toys in West Virginia and even better than that they will have their cousins, great grandparents, grandparents and friends. This will be a special time, for them and for me. It will give me a chance to really bond with family, and to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL state of West Virginia! Ten plus years ago I remember setting foot in that state, it was late summer and I thought I was in another dimension, and I thought the humidity was AWFUL. Growing up in the desert in California the heat there was more like sticking your head in an oven than humidity PLUS heat. After being in Florida, Yeah...My opinion has changed rather drastically! Haha! West Virginia is filled with beauty that I cannot describe, wonderful and kind people and I hope to retire there one day when the time comes. I truly love everything about that state. I am also excited to be able to babysit my new niece Ali while I am there! A few more weeks here in Florida and then we will be moving on to the next leg of our journey! We will have some visitors in the coming weeks also and I am so excited! The sunshine, the weather here in Florida-I will miss it! Will I miss the days where it feels like it is 2,000 degrees and the humidity is the same temperature as the core of the sun? NOPE! But yesterday watching my kids playing in the water, the beach, my feet in the sand I was at peace. Today I am a tad sunburnt but that will not stop us from making the most of today, and once again venture out to the beach and ENJOY! I will bring stronger sunblock today and a HUGE HAT for my poor face that is called "Big red!" Today I think we are doing the pool, less sand and more space for the kids to swim! The kids LOVE the water, they love swimming and they love being out and about-in West Virginia we will be able to enjoy swimming holes, pools and water fun in different aspects! July 4th is without a doubt one of my favorite holidays, the fireworks, the smell of BBQ's and the fun of doing sparklers and seeing the sky light up with beauty! We went out to dinner as a family since the packing has taken over our lives and then went to what is called The Landing and it was PACKED to say the least, but we navigated our way to some friends who had a great spot and view of the water. I got to catch up with some of my Starbuck's friends and then the big show started. It was 30 or so minutes of hugging my kids tight and it was beautiful, it took my breath away! It was a great day-a day that made me smile and still makes me smile. With the move I have had to give notice to my job at Starbuck's and actually I only have taken a leave of absence. I was told by my manager the other day that I have great potential to be a strong manager if that is what I want to move toward! He is training me while I am still here, will be my mentor and when I leave will continue to be my mentor. I have met some wonderful people in my job with this company, this company is so giving, and treats their employees simply wonderful. So I will see what happens, where life takes me the next few months and I will be open minded to anything. The exciting part about a move is that it is a new start, I am ready and excited for this new start.
Excitement has officially set in despite the stress that comes with this, I am so ready!
Blessings to you all-
