I hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th holiday! I always feel like a kid on that day, the eating of yummy BBQ food, snacks, sodas, and fireworks! Although this year there was a "Burn ban" here in the Colorado Springs area due to fire hazards, etc. We had several friends over and it was great, the kids ran around playing in the water, the sunshine was out and great conversations with great friends and family. Then that evening Jason and I went to watch fireworks together after the kids went down, as debbie stayed behind to listen for the kiddies! All in all a productive and NICE weekend!
There are many things that will take place in the coming months and Jason and I feel overwhelmed. The WILLS we need to complete before he leaves in the end of October, Power's of Attorney so I can handle things while he is gone, and last minute things to the house. He is starting to feel sad that he will be leaving his family for a year. We were just talking last night that he has been in 13 years this month and he feels it is not "worth it" anymore. This 1 year apart will start another 7 years of deployments and time apart. But we remind one another that what he is doing is serving our country, this great country we all love so much but why do we feel so sad and sort of lost? He has started "outprocessing" which is a checklist for all you civilian folk! A checklist a mile long! Haha! Leave it to the military to make things so hard all the time. :P I have been quiet lately and contemplative, I am completly confident that I will ROCK IT while he is gone being a single parent etc...But it does not make it any less scary. Thanks for reading everyone, means alot!
