-There are weeks where I feel confident and then there are others where I feel as if "WOW what a week!" It started off well with my winning Civilian of the year of Air Force Space Command, the command I work for and have for the past 5 years now since leaving the active duty side of the house. A choice I never once regretted, but I will be honest I miss active duty a great deal still and it will forever be part of me and my heart. I love the tradition of the military but especially Air Force tradition, the Air Force song I still sing proudly, the way I hold myself at 5pm when they play reville. Some run into their cars or door ways to avoid it, but even last night as it was snowing my trio and I stood proudly with my hand over my heart and my little ones attempting to salute. A moment I will hold in my bank of memories forever. My kids knowing that it is important enough to stand still and render respect as they have seen their parents do. Priceless...
Yet I digress...
The rest of the week was filled with work with my new job, a job that is so damn important to me and to the Air Force as a whole. Hell the military as a whole and each day despite feeling totally exhausted from it I love it each and everyday...I have not said that in close to 5 years. With the week being as busy as it was there was sadness mixed in and that sadness had me knocked around a bit. It made me go home and hug my kids and heck my life just a little bit tighter. It made me realize we have limited amounts of time on this earth, that we need to cherish every moment with a love that comes from deep and within. Take nothing for granted because this past week I saw too much sadness to NOT be anything BUT 100% GRATEFUL!
Our saturday started early as it always does. My bubby Kellan is fighting a cold and of course keeps his sister up all night with coughing as they share a room but tonight I hope for more rest all around! I seem to get less and less rest as the months move on but I learn to deal better and better. Each day is a new day to make a difference and that is my mindset, I WILL make a difference no matter how big or small.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read/comment/follow.
