Grooves....

This year has begun, feels different and in a good way different. I have several promising job interviews in the coming weeks that I am looking forward to. I am hopeful that these will lead to some sort of employment. In the meantime unemployment SHOULD kick in soon and that will give us some sort of small safety net. So for starters I have been doing simple things every night no matter how tired I am or what sort of day I had, I do 50 to 100 squats, and crunches on the exercise ball-usually 30-60 so far. Then this past saturday I ran/walked my second 5K since 2008! It was a cold morning but I shot out of bed excited and ready to go! It was hosted my the local running store that I go to for shoe needs, etc...so I know them all a bit thankfully. Back to the race, it was through a beautiful neighborhood, lots of old trees and road that I could get lost on, it felt great! After the short run/walk there was a health fair where I got to meet many medical professionals in the area-good stuff! The weekend was quiet, I studied a lot, and Sunday I got the kids ready for church and we went together-all 4 of us! They loved it as do I! They came out singing songs about Jesus being in their hearts-Priceless! I am raising wonderful, good hearted children and I could not be more proud of them! This weekend they also got a bike and helmet each-so cute watching the trio navigate this new thing! Needless to say it will take practice for them! :) Kellan is the "Fix it dude" in the bike riding process, he likes to see how it all works and can be fixed! Hilarious BTW! Scarlett is the biker who hates to be dirty, would wear gloves any and everywhere because she does not like dirty shoes or hands...So cute! And Violet is well...Violet! Fearless is the word for her! She shot off like a cannon on her bike and ended up rolling over a tiny hill, got up with mud all over her and wanted more! Haha! Fearless Violet!!!! Me...I got my bike yesterday(Thanks to my parents for making it happen!) I was like a kid in a candy store!!! When I was a kid we did not have our parents take us everywhere, we RODE our bikes everywhere. My best friend Vanessa and myself would take off and be gone all day, we did not have pagers, or cell phones to keep in touch or text. We rode, albeit cold, rainy, snowy, any way...We took off and were always outside. Last night as I was riding my bike I felt like a kid again! The wind in my face, as my legs took over and gained speed and power-WOW what a feeling. Brought me back to my awesome childhood! I plan on getting a basket for my bike so that I can carry water and stuff for the kids when we are out. It is so funny as an adult what makes you happy! Seeing my children happy and excited is enough for me, I am so utterly blessed. I may not always know where I am going BUT I do have someone always on my side-God. He is helping me navigate this new life and I am so very thankful! Finally my trio, they are reason for being, for living, for constantly striving to be a better version of myself. I will leave you all with my favorite verse: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 Blessings always~<3<3<3<3<3
